Ancestry - Coronation Ad Campaign

For this campaign we were approached by Ancestry to create a dynamic advertising campaign based around the coronation in the UK. This was to be published on YouTube, TV and Digital out of Home. I was involved on every step of the process of the brand ad, from initial research and development, storyboarding and art directing on set, to asset creation, animation and final delivery.

It was very important for us that the final delivery suited Ancestry’s brand guidelines, and felt ‘dated’ without feeling too moody or sad. I wanted to go for a celebratory feel with this advert to coincide with the Coronation Celebrations. This was achieved by layering different assets from the Ancestry archive, such as old records, documents and photos, with studio footage we shot ourselves to make it feel like a seamless piece, exploring each persons life and link to the coronation.

As well as being shown on TV, YouTube and socials, we also worked as a team to create Digital Out of Home assets for Westminster and Green Park Underground stations in London.

A short showreel of the Digital out of Home outcomes RATCHET delivered for this project. Both being shown in London underground stations, Westminster and Green Park.

DOOH

RATCHET worked with another company to design and deliver these DOOH & OOH assets and get them printed for London underground stations. All designs were based on the 30 second brand ad, that I had created for the campaign. Some elements had to be resized and positioned to ensure that they fit the different aspect ratios based around the stations, both on static screens and animated ones.
